Ratings: Alcatraz vs. Terra Nova--a slight edge for Alcatraz

As far as we've heard, Fox hasn't said if they are renewing Terra Nova. I've heard some comment that the decision may be driven by what Alcatraz would do in the ratings. Such speculation assumes it's a "one or the other" situation. As you can see in the comparison of the debuts of the two shows, it's very close.



Alcatraz just edged out Terra Nova by 6% in the A18-49 demo. But, it skewed a little older an managed to have 9% viewers overall. It also was closer to 50/50 for men vs. women.

We'll have to see how Alcatraz holds up in its 2nd airing. Terra Nova actually did not decline from episode 1 to episode 2. If Alcatraz drops just 6%, it will even with Terra Nova on an episode-to-episode comparison.
