What's With Person of Interest? (Drive-By Ratings)

February 10, 2012:

I tried a few episodes of Person of Interest early in the season. It was out of the JJ Abrams show factory and I thought I should check it out. I think I've seen about three episodes. It just wasn’t grabbing me. As obsessed as I am with TV ratings, I actually don’t have a lot of time to watch TV.

Anyway, I noticed the show did pretty good in the ratings last night. See a comparison of last night’s rating to the premiere and it’s actually higher. After the premiere, it dropped off and wallowed around the 2.6-2.7 neighborhood, but, for some reason, it’s rebounded:

What happened? Did the show get better? Did Jim Caviezel change is facial expression?

Or did it just fall into the same procedural formula that works for so many CBS shows and attracts the masses, but usually bores me.
