But, embedded deeper in the data, both shows saw an increase in Men 18-34--one of the most difficult demos for Primetime shows on broadcast TV to get.

Both these shows are highly targeted. Whereas most show's ratings go up the older the demo because more old people watch a lot of TV, these shows actually have higher ratings for young men than they have for the general "18-49" demo. Parks' rating for Men 55 or older is a lowly 0.9. Person of Interest gets a 9.4 rating for that demo.
Also, these shows have a highly concentrated audience of college graduates compared to other TV shows.
In other news, Grimm pulled a A18-49 rating of 1.57 in a special test to see how it would perform on Thursdays. That's not that different from what it had been getting on Friday and a little bit better than the time period has been doing. Ten o'clock has become a tough time period because it is the hour when many people play back stuff on their DVR.
